On authenticity, or our inability to be anything but ourselves

At HyperRing, we decided early in our re-founding journey that authenticity would be a core pillar of our brand and company culture. As a small team of six, it was something we all valued — and something we felt in desperate need of.

By that point, we had been through the wringer when it came to personnel changes. We had just parted ways with a group of people who brought nothing but empty promises, grandiose "vision," and self-aggrandizing mythos that left us mentally and even physically drained. It felt like we had spent the last 12 months running in circles, like a dog chasing a car.

For those familiar with the tech startup world, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Unfortunately, it’s all too common — the startup environment often rewards those who exaggerate their successes, inflate their capabilities, and fudge their numbers. Some might argue it’s just part of the game.

Well, we decided we wanted no part of it. Looking back, I think our decision was shaped by our cultural backgrounds and personalities. Though our founding team comes from four continents, every member has roots in East Asia or Eastern Europe—regions where "less talk, more results" is deeply ingrained in the culture.

Another significant factor? The vast majority of our company (over 80%) is female. And, let’s be honest—studies show that when it comes to work, women are less prone to BS compared to our male peers.

Some of it also trickled down from me, as the one sitting at the helm. I have an almost pathological inability to act or speak in a way that doesn’t feel truthful. That trait served me well in my prior role as a Wall Street stock analyst—investor clients valued my objectivity, and I became widely known in the industry for telling it like it is. The large publicly traded companies I was supposed to suck up to? Not so much.

Regardless of the reason, the team that stayed and re-founded HyperRing felt it was essential to present ourselves exactly as we are—nothing more, nothing less. That way, any success we achieve will be the result of our hard work, planning, and talent, rather than smoke and mirrors.

This drive for authenticity has fueled our late nights, countless hours of work, and everything we've poured into building a brand that truly speaks to us. And what you see at HyperRing today is the culmination of all of that.

We are the first mass-market tech jewelry brand that is proudly female-owned and built by an interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and businesspeople. We couldn’t be more excited to have you join our community—where authenticity isn’t just a buzzword. It’s our foundation, our compass, and our promise to you.

If you believe in doing things the right way, not the easy way, you’re in the right place. We’re building something different, and we’re glad you’re here.

Welcome to HyperRing, where what you see is truly what you get.
